All women have gone through moments when we have wanted to be like others, envying attitudes, beauty, success and denying ourselves the gift of acceptance.
The image we see by the English painter Edward Burne Jones shows the image of women contemplating their own reflection.
This symbolic and powerful image invites us to look at ourselves and accept ourselves just as we are with our curves, wrinkles, different experiences, hearts, smiles, dreams…because when we see another woman, she is our sister, partner, and when we criticize or judge to another, we condemn ourselves.
We are all valid regardless of our experiences, culture, age, weight, and beliefs……we all want the same thing deep down. Within us there are creative, dreaming, dancing, adventurous girls who at some point have been scared and created a box that protects and suffocates them at the same time.
We live in a world full of labels, stereotypes that seem to scream at us to belong to something when deep down feminine nature is free and wants to flow more than stagnate. Because of this, many women get lost and confused along the way following parameters that are obsolete, absurd and that only lead to insecurity.
